today i did my marking of the permanent markers and marked on plastic (my calculator), glass (this wine bottle), metal (this metal thing that holds stuff) and cotton (one of my old t-shirts) and i marked each one with a black, orange, red and blue? sharpie
and now i wait...

for the permanent marker experiment i would use permanent marker to draw on some different objects with different surfaces and leave for a period of time and see if there are any signs of it coming off
and while im waiting for that, i'll draw a line on a piece of cloth with the same colour permanent marker and put soak it different solvents such as water, alcohol, vinegar, detergent and oil and if soaking doesnt work ill get a scrubber, dip it in each solvent and scrub and compare it to the original mark
lastly i'll do the same for a few brands and colours of the permanent marker and compare the results
for this experiment the independent variable would be the time and the different solutions and the dependent is the visibility of the mark
controlled variable would be the using the same permanent marker for each experiment, the amount of solvent in each cup, the time it is left in every solvent and using the same scrubber to scrub the mark
and all i can do now is hoping that Ms Zhang will approve of this...

i did just a little practice run of the experiment and the results were not very...good so i was thinking of changing my experiment to something that was a bit more reliable and not as 'bug attracting' and i was thinking of experimenting with the permanent markers and testing if they are actually permanent and what solvent will remove the ink and if all the brands of permanent markers will be the same...

...
ive been trying to think for more ideas but nothing good is coming to me so i'll prob have to stick with the mouldy fruit for now...
and for planning, i'll prob just get a few fruits (cut into the same size) from each type of fruit, place it in paper plates and leave it in the garage and i'll check every day to see if it grew moulds, and i'll keep a themometre somewhere near there so i can keep track of the temperature
independent variable- time, fruit
dependent variable- amount of moulds
Controlled variables- location, quantity, temperature, same measuring eqiupment
and i might repeat the process with other fruits just to make sure that its done correctly
it'll be something like this...

i think instead of the 'what types of food attracts mould' i'll change it to 'what types of fruit attracts mould the best' because there's like tonnes of types of food and within each type of food there another ten thousand type of food and i'll have to get more than 1 for each type of food so it'll probably be a bit to complicated and the results might not be exact...
so i searched the types of fruit and it came up with
Pome, Citrus, Stonefruit, Tropical, Berries, Melons, Tomatoes and avocados so i'll probably get a few fruits from each type and do it~

ideas?
so ive been thinking...and i was thinking of doing what kind of food do moulds like best or maybe which softdrinks has the most acidity. i found these on the internet and though they were interesting...
